Bulk edit views of a table? Change which table is the parent?

Unless I’m wrong (LMK!), there’s currently no way to do this, but I think it would be really helpful…

I’d love to be able to bulk edit the filters, sorts, column configuration, etc. of views of a table. I’m imagining going to the doc map or similar, and selecting the views I want to apply the filter or column configuration to.

It would also be really helpful to be able to change which view of a table is designated as the parent. I’ve run into a situation where I’d like to move a parent table but it’s quite large so if I try to cut and paste it somewhere else, Coda crashes.

Moving a parent table is easy to do without cutting and pasting: just highlight the table, CTRL-X it into memory and CTRL-V it at another location in your doc. If you make a mistake in the process, CTRL-Z to the rescue.

This may feel a bit scary at first, but I use it all the time and it works. All connections stay intact.

Thanks Joost for your reply. CTRL-X and CTRL-V are what I meant by cutting and pasting. I do it with tables in coda all the time as well, but I’ve run into a situation where I tried to move a table so large that it took Coda several minutes to process the CTRL-X, and in the interim I went and did some other work outside of Coda and copied something else so couldn’t CTRL-V, so when I went back to Coda I tried to CTRL-Z and it kept crashing the doc. I had to get the Coda team to help me restore the doc.

I was just wondering if there was another way here. It would be cool to just be able to designate a view as the parent.

I agree, but I think the problem is that tables and views are different objects all together. I have run into numerous situations where it would have been nice to change a view to the main table, but I don’t think that is going to happen.
