As shown in the image below, I have a table and on top two columns. The problem is that it is not allowing me to extend the width of them so it takes the same space as the table.

coda has replied on the page width issue here…
I have ran some tests, the issue here is that databases do not follow the same pattern as the rest of the blocks, they overflow the width of the content, except when they are part of a column.
If you try to drag some text to the right of a database you will see that the blue guide line appears inside the database and not after.
