I created a Project Management system in my company using Coda.io.
The System is cross documents based. For different levels in company i created different docs. System should find and present information, create reports and etc. For each new project PMs should create new area (new doc). But all this docs should be collected in CEOs view…
I need to have different cross documents dependencies and have an opportunity to merge more than 2 tables in one.
I used MergeTable Pack for solve this issue, but it allows to merge just 2 table. Is it possible to do, maybe using other Pack or internal Coda tools?
Instead of merging tables from multiple documents into the CEO document, I would have done it the other way around. Create a master table in the CEO’s doc and then create new docs and sync the necessary rows for lower levels. This can be accomplished with Cross-docs, a coda internal tool.
If you have specific questions about this approach let me know.
It will be a working method, but also it will not be convenient for the team, because different teams will use the same table, have an opportunity to change and delete tasks from other projects. It is not a safety method.
I’d like other way. I use cross-docs in CEO’s table. I sync different docs in one page and then I want to merge them fof creating master-database.
Normal users should not have access to the CEO’s doc or any other document that doesn’t belong to their department/rol. Any changes done in the other documents will be automatically synced back to the master table if you use Two way sync, so there’s no need to merge anything.
