Form can be edited by any Coda user? Hot to fix

Hey all,
I have created some forms in my doc, and I see that once I publish it that any Coda user is able to click the Edit Form button in the top right. They can make changes to columns just like me, the Doc Owner.
My settings for the form are as follows:
Anyone on the internet can use this link
Allow submissions: on
Require login: on
All other sliders under Privacy in the form are off.

I also have the page the form is based in hidden and locked, set to Read Only.

I opened the form with a normal test Coda user and they were able to make any changes that reflected to all other users for the form.

Any way I can make the form allow submissions, but not be editable by anyone?
Any other tips for safe practices with forms?

Thanks!

Hello @Nima_Tabletop ,

It has to be one of your settings. Even though I prefer to share a link to the form rather than to a page with the form, users should not be able to edit your form.

If you share a link to the form I will take a look - you can share it by sending me a private message if you want.

If you share the doc with me, I will take a look at your doc settings (this is easy, quick, but you need to have some faith that I will treat your doc confidentially.

The best way to get help is build a dummy doc that looks like the real thing but without any confidential data - and share it in the community.

What kind of Coda subscription do you have: team?

Greetings, Joost

Hey Joost,
I am talking about the link to the published form, not even the form within a page. In the top right there is an Edit Form button on the public link to the Form. Like I said, the editable form is in a hidden page with Read Only access. I unlock to edit it.
I have a Team subscription, so I can do Page Locking.
Dummy doc sounds like a good idea but will take some time. I can work on that tomorrow maybe. Appreciate your help!

I had misunderstood your question.

The form is only editable by an authorized user, but that can be a problem and a user can ruin your form.

I agree that a form-lock (like page lock) would be beneficial. Perhaps start a suggestion ticket to bring this to the attention of the Coda-team?

Hi @Nima_Tabletop!
The link to edit a form should only be visible in the published form to users who also have access to the source Coda doc that the form comes from.

Do you need users who fill out the form to also have access to the Coda doc? If not, you could check that the doc isn’t shared more widely than you intend.

If you do need users to be able to access the source Coda doc, you could also try Table locking which was just released. If you lock the table the form comes from, users with access to the doc will still see the link to edit the form, but once they click it they shouldn’t be able make most changes to columns – just a few visual and logic settings specific to that form.
