Help: Minimizing AI Credit Usage

I set up a table in my Coda doc for Meeting Notes. One of the columns I have is for “Raw Transcript or Notes” from the Meeting. I then have another column which uses Coda AI to Summarize the “Raw Transcript or Notes” column, and a second column which uses Coda AI to “Find action items”.

Unfortunately, after adding two 30min Meetings to the table, I have run out of AI Credits. :frowning:

After having learned a small bit about Coda’s recalculations of columns like this, I feel like the better solution is for me to have a Button column that will trigger the AI summarization and action item extraction, or some similar manual trigger for a single Meeting that I add/edit.

Unfortunately, I’m not seeing any formulas to leverage in my Button configuration to do this AI work - am I missing something?

Please help! The only recourse I see is to do this AI work outside of Coda, or on a single page where I can do this on-demand in a text field, once, and then copy/paste into the Meeting Notes table, and both of those solutions feel less enticing to me.

I also wish that the amount of credits was greater, or there was a way to connect my own ChatGPT account, which has more tokens available to me, with my Coda account so that I don’t blow through my Coda AI credits so quickly.

Thanks in advance.

I solved my own problem, I think, by way of:

It wasn’t obvious to me to look under the “Refresh AI assistant” on-click option for the Button and see that it had the “column or block” option here. When I found the “Refresh AI assistant” option under automations, it didn’t have “column or block”, it only had “block” so it threw me off the scent to look for the “column or block” option here.

Glad you solved it, I came across this function as well, but how did you refer to the column? I couldn’t figure it out. The Block and Add Block are all greyed out. I tried using formula but couldn’t get it to work as well.
