Launched: Quick Insertion (Slash Commands)

A few weeks ago, we shared that we were testing a new way to quickly add Coda building blocks to your docs. I’m excited to share that after incorporating some of the great feedback from this community, we’re launching Quick Insertion today. Now, you really only have to remember one keyboard shortcut while you’re making in Coda: /

Starting today, you can add tables, views, details, cards, media, links, templates, buttons and more by typing / . Not sure what you want to add? Typing / also opens up a searchable menu. Some examples:

  • Type /table to easily start building a new table
  • Type /button to see the various kinds of buttons available to directly to your doc’s canvas: Add Row, Delete Row, Modify Rows, Notify User, Open Hyperlink, Push Buttons and/or a General Button you can customize and format on your own
  • Type /project to see various templates and tools for Projects, including templates for for Team Projects and Tasks or Gantt charts!
  • Or, just type / and type a query to search for a solution that meets your needs!

Hey,
is it possible to hide + symbol which appears on each row by default? (now)
It makes overall view cluttered and makes not much sense as you usually write something having hands over your keyboard so it’s easier to use / command than choose something form + list and then type again.
