New to CODA, trying to create a form with some linked autofill

I created a checklist form for one of our operations that views a set of check lists tables. I did this so Quality can make changes to the Tables as needed per our ISO and QMS needs. The form works great as far as what we want, but when it gets submitted to the logs the “links” to the checklist tables are still there, and any edit to those original tables will gray out (or possibly delete/change) in the already posted columns in the log. Is there a way during the submit process to do something to post values only for link columns to avoid invalidating the older entries on the Form Log?
