Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if there’s any way to automatically restore a column to its previous position after it has been hidden and then shown again in a table view?
Currently, when I hide a column and later unhide it, Coda places it at the far right of the table, regardless of where it was before. This disrupts the structure, especially in large tables where column order carries meaning (e.g., chronological, logical grouping, etc.).
Would appreciate any ideas, workarounds, or if others are experiencing the same challenge.
Thanks in advance

welcome to the community
while it is not possible to restore a column to its previous position after its been hidden,
an alternative approach to working would be to create differing views. i.e. One/s that are workflow view/s (i.e. chronological, logical grouping etc and columns are untouched) and one/s that are “building view/s” (hide or unhide columns).
apart from when you’re building out tables and docs, are there any other use cases/scenarios for you that hiding and unhiding columns is essential?
looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
cheers!
