Setting a shared cross-doc account within a template

The big picture is that we have one centralized doc containing a table of tasks for all our projects. We have a project template doc from which we create individual docs for each project. The template should have a filtered view of the Tasks table via cross doc.

The issue comes with setting the shared account which is used to take cross-doc actions such as Edit Row and Add Row. I create a token from Insert → Cross-Doc → Settings, and ensured it is Shared with Take Actions and View Data enabled.

That account works fine when I create a doc from the template, but whenever someone else creates a doc from the same template, they do not have that shared account available and none of the cross-doc formulas work (notice the empty Account field)

Is there a way to make it so that the shared account that set within the template remains set and available in docs created from that template ? Thank you for all suggestions

Hey MBB! This sounds like a feature request the Coda team has been tracking. That said, we have moved this post into the Suggestion Box for other members of the Community to chime in on this, and we’ve gone ahead and tracked your vote for this feature formally
