Small bug in pinyin entry for Chinese characters

A slightly niche bug here:

If you are typing Chinese characters using pinyin input (i.e. typing Latin letters for the Chinese characters, which the computer then converts to a character with a picklist) in a table, the first letter you type in a cell will just be rendered as a latin letter, and the pinyin input will only start from the second character onwards.

For example, if I want to write the character 水(shui), if start typing in an empty cell, I would get “s会”, where 会 is “hui” in pinyin. So I always have to erase the first thing I typed and then redo it (at that point it works normally).

I’m using a mac for this, btw.

The same problem!I hope to fix it asap.

This bug has risen from the dead.
It had been fixed for almost a year, but now it’s back with a vengeance, stubbornly insisting on rendering a latin first letter whenever you try to type in chinese using pinyin input.
