Experiencing the same very annoying issue with Chinese, as already reported here.

Small bug in pinyin entry for Chinese characters

This bug has risen from the dead. It had been fixed for almost a year, but now it’s back with a vengeance, stubbornly insisting on rendering a latin first letter whenever you try to type in chinese using pinyin input.
