Table vs Relation vs Select List

Hello!

Sorry if this is dense, but could someone explain the difference between a the column type of Table and a column type of Relation?

I use to be able to toggle my relation column in a detail view to Show as Table, but that option is now gone, but I’m able to do achieve something similar using the Table column option. Is showing relation columns as a table no longer an option? (the same problem as this person had)

To display the data as a table, you need to check the “Allow multiple selections” option in a linked relation or relation column. Otherwise, only list and dropdown options will be available.

The table column functions similarly to a linked relation column, automatically filtering to show only the rows related to the current table.
