Unable to share a doc with a Google Group

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble sharing a Coda doc with a Google Group.

Here’s the situation:

  • I registered to Coda using an email address that is actually an alias
  • When I try to share a doc and click on “Invite Google Group”, I’m redirected to the Google login page.
  • I log in using the email address that the alias points to, and I approve the Google-Coda connection.
  • After that, I’m redirected back to the share popup in Coda.

The issue:
Even after successful authentication, when I try to share the doc with a Google Group email, it still treats it as a regular email address, not as a Google Group. There’s no special indicator or group icon, and access doesn’t work properly.

Is there a specific setting in the Google Group that needs to be enabled for this to work? Or is there a particular flow I’m missing?

I’m pretty sure Coda Support will be able to help you. Just click on the bubble on the lower right corner.

I did not hear back from Coda’s support yet.
