What determines if an empty group shows in Table view?

I feel like I must be missing something obvious here, but I can’t seem to understand how Coda determines if an empty group shows or not in Table View.

I have a table with two different Select columns. Neither is a lookup to another table, just a custom Dropdown list I made. Both columns have several options which have no items set to that option.

But if I group the table by one of them in Table View, and group on the Left side, it shows a group for EVERY option, even the empty ones. But if I group by the other one, it only shows groups for the options that actually have rows in them.

I can’t find any configuration setting that is different between them. Why does one show all the options, but the other only shows the ones that are not empty?

Thanks!

hello,

you can right click your group column → group → group option → gear icon, then check show empty groups

I have opened an issue before that you can only choose between show all empty groups or no empty groups, there is not filter group or sorting groups by formula, that would be useful

Ah! There it is. I knew there had to be a way to do it that I was just missing.

Thank you!
