Disable hover information in Shared Doc

I imagine the option is somewhere, and I just am not looking in the correct place  I have a doc (synced page from within my main doc, but as its own page) for sharing production details with the general crew members, and the overall setup is exactly as I want. However - some fields have the mouseover/hover popups that are providing much more information than it should.

I would like to NOT allow those popups, as well as the click link that proceeds to open up all the juicy information in the main database. This page should be truly read only. I’m on the Pro Plan currently.

** Edit to clarify a bit what I’m up to **

This page I linked is a Sync page from my main “source of truth” database doc. The hope was that this can allow me to share up to date details with my cast/crew members; ONLY those details.

But there are so many things that are leading right back into my Main database:

  • Hover shows info that should be hidden
  • Mouseovers allow to click on linked references which open up a new tab IN the Database doc
  • Expand rows open up full details which should be hidden
  • Upper triple dot menu allows opening in full database doc

Now - Have I simply done the setup wrong?? A shared View Only page should not open up additional information in the main database doc. I’ve been reading through lots of other posts and cannot find where I have gone wrong…

I guess overall what I am wanting is a “What you see is what you get” page version. The information immediately visible is exactly what can be accessed, nothing else.

Hello @Shannon_Bradley

You can make a synced page read-only with the settings shown in the screen print below

Greetings,
Joost

Thanks for your reply  Interesting - that setting is actually a bit counter intuitive, and doesn’t really make sense in context. It would be better to have something like:

  • Enable access to source doc modal views/record expansion
  • Disable additional modal views/record expansion from source doc

With a more in depth description of this menu settings page. The actual wording of “enable” and “disable” are a lot more intuitive!

I also determined with further trial and error after changing this setting that the info still being shown was select info in a second page in this sharing portal. But since the first 3 I moused over happened to be IN that other page…it appeared that info was sharing incorrectly.

There was another really great doc someone created 7-Step Guide to Secure Your Coda Document which could benefit from maybe having some sections added with this sort of sync page information? Every security/access question like mine comes up, make sure the answer is in there…eventually it will be perfect! I could see that being the greatest guide to security ever

The learning curve of how to set things up in Coda is definitely steeper than some other systems I have used, but once getting the help from you fabulous people, it just keeps getting better!
