As the subject says. Wondering if it’s possible to have the contents in the current row cleared if the drop-down value in the first column is changed.

Sure, that’s easily done with an automation.
Add all the columns that you want to clear in the step 2 and give them the value "".
Be aware that automations is not instantaneous, can take up to a minute to run.
