Thank you Alex!
Just went to do another test and the fix seems to have reach our doc!
FYI: was having the same issue in Firefox and Safari on Mac.
Very excited to start building up some more forms now that this issue is solved — thanks again!

Amazing feature! I’m going to test it out as an email as well. I would love for the form to be fillable when I send it in an email.
Love this new feature, it’s been long awaited and it’s certainly been worth the wait!
You’ve honestly out done yourself this time - need a conditional form, integrated perfectly into your silky smooth, gorgeous-looking database, and you’ve only got a few minutes?
Np just use Coda
Unreal work, keep it up!
Looking forward to seeing what creativity the community comes up with for this as well, will be suuuper cool to see!
This is awesome! I love that Detail View got love as well!
@alexdeneui are there any plans to support descriptions (in a tooltip, for example) in table view?
Great! Just one idea: we’re missing the ability to prepopulate fields on the published form by adding URL parameters like: coda.io/form/restoftheurl?name=Coda&surname=Io
Awesome, I’m having a lot of fun with these forms!
Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but filling/submitting an inline form on desktop will give me both a little blurb saying its been submitted and clear the form, but when I was testing it on mobile, it does neither (and I don’t recommend hitting submit repeatedly to try to fix this unless you want a bunch of identical rows added to your table ).
Hi @joellopez and @Melissa_Kimball,
Welcome to the community!
Both of these are great points and ones that we’ll look into. We’ve noticed the lack of a confirmation message on mobile internally as well in some of the forms we’ve created
URL parameters would be a great addition too! It’s been noted and is being discussed, so we’ll be looking into it as a possibility.
Thank you both for the feedback!
Thanks @BenLee!
I extend my idea with this: prepopulate hidden fields (fields shown on the results table but not on the form).
Amazing job guys.
KEEP ON ROCKING ON CODANS!
Sorry if this is obvious…
Is there a way to use a form to update a row in a table. For example to update an address for a particular client without it creating a duplicate?
Thanks
I am afraid you cannot directly, meaning realtime in the same table. But you can keep your data clean and aligned by using a second table and the following function :
AddOrModifyRows (table, expression, column, columnValue)
–
Just for the example: if you use the email address as MatchValue, you use the above function to create or update a row in another table in conjunction with an automation type “new row”.
You need thus:
It is a bit of work, but with a some effort you can set this up.
I am not in favor of this approach and keep using PaperForm with Zapier and use Coda tables as my database. This is even more work to set up, but the result is more robust. I use the Coda forms for very simple tasks inside Coda, but I am not yet a fan of this solution (and after reading the comments, I guess I am the only one…).
Cheers, Christiaan
Hello Codans,
I am wondering about a couple of things:
I can in the form editor enter a value for new rows (text or formula), but when I am using this form, I never get to see this text or formula. Is this a bug?
I already reported this earlier: when submitting a file, the file arrives in my table, but the filename gets lost.
can we get some additional form items to add some text (instructions), hyperlinks, images, icons, etc. to the canvas of the form. The only way I see now is to build an new doc, embed the form and then publish this doc. That is a bit cumbersome and not very flexible if you want to add some images between form field (for example).
Thanks in advance for your attention,
Greetings,
Joost
Hey you can create a column with the image and then place it in the form and it will show. Not perfect but might solve your issue (I use this idea to show formulaic content too that is relevant to some questions as fx
columns in the form table).
Hello @Johg_Ananda ,
Thank you for your suggestion, but I don’t understand your suggestion. In which column should I place a picture - as far as I know no row or column content goes from the doc to the form. in the form you can specify (at design time) a formula (like “today()+days(2)” ) don’t produce a result.
Hi @joost_mineur I mean that you can show doc content in the form; look at this example maybe this will explain what I mean better:
Thank you @Johg_Ananda, now I understand. I find it strange that this works, while a formula in, for example, a date field does not ‘survive’ it’s way to a form. But this works and can be used while we are waiting for some improvements in the form builder.
There wasn’t any announcement of it but a saw those options while building a new form today
CC: @BenLee?
In addition to what @joost_mineur wrote, in lookup/multiple choice columns, even if the column is set to “allow quick adding of new items” you can’t add items through the fotm.

Yes! We’ve launched the ability to pre-populate form fields via URL parameters, including for hidden fields. See Launched: Pre-filled Form Fields for more details.
Folks, maybe a dumb question:
If I have Google Analytics hooked up with my account, can I track activity on the public forms as well?
Thanks in advance,
Greg
