Background, I’m quite invested in Coda as I’ve used it with multiple clients over the years and I think I was a fairly early user. It’s a great tool that I’ve recommended to multiple people. However ,there is one severe problem, which is that it is not accessible to users with limitations or disabilities with keyboard usage.
I use 90% voice typing (because I have to) and Coda crashes when I use voice typing. I’ve reported this issue to them multiple times over the year+. At first, it would only happen occasionally and so I was able to deal with it and had a hard time getting a screen share video of the error even happening. They’ve assured me that they’re working on it, but the issue has only gotten worse to the point where it crashes almost every time.
I’m just deeply frustrated because I love the product otherwise, I feel like this lack of response probably goes against disability laws as well (although I don’t have any diagnosed official disability), and I have no idea what I will use instead for managing projects.
Anyway, it is no longer practical or possible for me to use Coda so….
This is what happened when I try to create some subtasks in order. The text jumped around all over the place and some of the text is missing. It also duplicates text quite frequently. It didn’t completely crash this time but this type of behavior is just as bad.
I use voice typing in email, other documents, and even this post without any problems, so the issue is specific precisely to Coda.
Rant over.
