Subfolders to create organization under the high level folder

+1, my brain works in hierarchy of folders

+1 for subfolders, given how some of client communication works not having subfolders is leading to an almost unmanageable structure.

+1 for subfolders. Nested folders have been a backbone structure in project tools for, like, decades. I can only infer thereā€™s a philosophy in the way vs. a technical issue, but it feels absurd not to have this functionality.

Wasnā€™t this element already baked into the original Coda? Why was it removed? I was going through the videos tutorials and wondered why the trainerā€™s version had the ability to nest folders to infinity and I couldnā€™t even add ONE to another folder!

+1 to BRING IT BACKā€¦ shaking head that it was ever deleted

Reviving thread, because Subfolders are CRITICAL for larger organizations looking to adopt Coda at a higher level.

Agreed, Christina. As our business grows, weā€™re getting to a point where managing docs in Coda is becoming untenable. I wish we could have subfoldersā€¦

Just wanted to note that there are two threads covering the workspace subfolder suggestion, the other being recently commented on and located here:

What I wonder is how Coda hasnā€™t raised the priority on this as they use Coda for all their internal processes. My assumption is that they are using many workspaces, and thus organizing their documents under relevant workspaces. This doesnā€™t seem like a intuitive solution for regular users however who donā€™t want to pay for the same maker many times across workspaces, or manage billing across many workspaces.

Yes, without any sort of tagging or advanced filtering itā€™s not reasonable to expect your customers to work with only one folder level. What is the expected usage here? A master coda doc with everything else linked from it? That seems impractical to set up, especially since not every user is a doc maker so it canā€™t be that each user just makes their own

Hoping that this is coming soon as it has been on the roadmap for a while. Currently a bit messy to have all docs in one folder with no additional sorting.

This thread is TWO YEARS OLDā€¦ why is such a painfully obvious organizational function, such as creating a sub-folder, STILL not integrated into Coda? So frustrating!!! This is a productivity app. Not having sub-folders is contradictory to be productive if I canā€™t access my information quickly.
