Linked Task List

Hi everyone. Very new to Coda here so I’m sure this has been asked before but I want to know the best way to create a linked master task list with individual tasks lists from my individual calls notes.

I create multiple call items in which there are individual tasks lists. What I’d like is that for every time I create a call note item and add a task list item, the output of that task list will automatically be added to a Subpage master task list so I can easily reference that vs. having to go through all of my notes individually.

Hi Joshua,

Welcome to the community!

It will be a lot easier for the community to help if you share a copy of your doc:

There are multiple ways in which to do this, but it is not clear to me whether there is a difference between tasks and master tasks, and how the call notes exactly fits into this.

Piet

Hi Piet, unfortunately I’m unable to share b/c that ability has been disabled by my admin exteranally but hopefully this test screenshot will give some more clarity. Not beholden to really any of this, I can adjust how the notes are taken however. But ultimately, I do want to be able to take notes on separate pages and have the individual task lists of those notes added to a master task list.

The simplest way would be to have the tasks be created as sub-items from the call note row, and then have different views on the different pages.

Alternatively, you could follow the example below:
(I created this before sub-items became available.)

Hope that gives you some ideas. Play around to see what works for you.
